US Patent 7771624 - Ferromagnetic nanoparticle ink

http://ip.com/patent/US7771624

Inkjet technology has been employed in printing patterns of conductive nanoparticles to form high resolution metal lines at low cost. One of the problems with this technique is that effects such as ink viscosity and drying speed can cause defects in the patterns. This patent from Samsung teaches a ferromagnetic nanoparticle ink to circumvent these problems. Claim 1 reads:

1. A nanoparticle for conductive ink comprising:

a ferromagnetic core; and

a conductive layer surrounding the ferromagnetic core,

wherein the ferromagnetic core is comprised in 5 to 40 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the nanoparticles, and the nanoparticle having a size of 5 to 50 nm.
