http://www.freepatentsonline.com/7579399.html

Throughout human history shaping tools have taken a variety of forms including stone, metals, alloys, and diamond. This patent from Huntsman Advanced Materials Americas appears to broadly claim a new form of shaping tool based on nanoparticle doped plastics which may be cheaper, more lightweight, and stronger than prior materials. Claim 1 reads:

1. A tool which consists of a plastic material with nanoscale particles and a material with gliding properties embedded in the plastic material and wherein the tool is in the form of a forming tool.
