US Patent 7576565 - Mem-resistor crossbar driver circuit

http://www.freepatentsonline.com/7576565.html

Memory resistors have been proposed as a new nanoscale circuit element useful to non-volatile memory called resistive RAM and neuromorphic circuitry. One of the key advantages of memory resistors is their ability to provide reconfigurable resistance states enabling more adaptive electronic systems to be developed which merge hardware with software. This patent teaches reconfigurable driving circuits based on memristive materials applicable to robotic and computational systems. Claim 1 reads:

1. A driving waveform circuit including:

a crossbar array having input columns and output rows wherein the crossbar array is configured to store data in the form of high or low resistance states;

delay timing circuitry electrically connected to the input columns of the crossbar array and configured to provide a relative delay timing between input signals of each input column; and

summation circuitry electrically connected to the output rows of the crossbar array for generating one or more output signals based on the stored resistance state data and the input signals.
